I am a qualified teacher who currently teaches Art and Design and Design and Technology in mainstream secondary education, having taught for 16 years. My background is in Fashion and Textiles, but along the way I have gained experience in a variety of areas including floristry, Interior design and jewellery making.
Passionate about learning and a self confessed life long learner I regularly update my making skills by taking part in a variety of creative workshops.
‘As a creative practioner and teacher I believe in creative learning
both inside and outside of the classroom and curriculum’.
Whilst working on children’s workshops for the Leather Museum in Walsall and a community project for The Black Country Living Museum in Dudley, I decided to offer a variety of creative sessions and workshops for both adults and children. The workshops have been created to be fun, informative and an introduction to a variety of skills. Most are suitable for a beginner or improver.
These practical making skills have been divided into a variety of ‘schools’ and the majority of workshops take place in the Jewellery Quarter in Birmingham, West Midlands. The schools currently comprise of Art, Craft and Print School.
Workshops take place on weekends and school holidays.
Im also Emergency first aid at work qualified.
